Installation

 

The Altered:Nozzle comes with adaptors for all common sized faucets. You will receive an installation guide in the package. If you would like further support please see installation videos  below.

 

Does the product fit my existing tap?

The Altered:Nozzle fits most taps with detachable socket for removable aerators. In the package you’ll receive different adapters that allows you to fit the Altered:Nozzle in the 3 most common tap sizes: Standard (20,8mm), Junior (18,1mm) and Tom Thumb (15mm). For further help on finding out what size tap you have, please download size guide below. 


Does the product work with my water system?

The Altered:Nozzle may not be used for faucets connected to pressureless boilers. We recommend a minimum pressure of 3 BAR to fulfill the functionality of Dual Flow. For Single Flow Dome we recommend a minimum pressure of 1.5 BAR. Installing check valves at the hot and cold supply is recommended to prevent cross-over flow.


MY FAUCET HAS A CONSEALED/CACHE AERATOR

Unfortunately our products does not support these types of taps at the moment. 
The product will only work on taps that has detachable sockets and removable aerators.

Shipping & Returns

 

to what countries do you ship?

We ship world wide using UPS. For UPS our estimated delivery time is 5-7 workdays from order date.

Within Europe you also have the option to ship with Standard Postal Package. Estimated delivery time is minimum 10 days. Please note that Standard Postal Package does not come with tracking. 


Can I return my purchase?

Yes you can. We have a 14 day money back guarantee. 
Please contact support [@] alteredcompany.com to apply for a return and conditions regarding this. 

All returns must be in perfect condition, and come with their original packaging. We are unable to accept returns on items that are scratched, damaged or that are not returned in their undamaged original packaging. Unfortunately, in these situations, the items will be returned to you at your own cost.


Can I change my delivery address?

If you wish to change your delivery address, please contact us as soon as possible after placing your order, and we will do our best to make it happen. If the package has already been shipped, we are unable to change the address during transportation.


Will there be any additional fees for customs duties or VAT?

When ordering goods from alteredcompany.com for delivery outside of the European Union (EU), your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied once the package reaches your delivery country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you and unfortunately we have no control over these charges and cannot advise what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so for further information we advise you to contact your local customs office.

Shipping fees and taxes will not be refunded for packages that are refused due to tax and customs duties.

VAT applies to countries within the EU.


Return shipping (when the product is not collected by the customer)

If the customer does not collect the product, it will be returned to Altered. The customer will be charged a fee to cover Altered's reasonable transport and administration costs.


What if a part missing in my package?

First double check the box if parts might have fallen out. If parts are missing at arrival, please contact our support at support [@] alteredcompany.com and we will send you replacement parts. If you did not buy the product through our online store, please contact the supplier  where you made the order.


What do I do if the product is damaged at arrival?

Which payment methods do you accept?

You can pay with VISA, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal and Apple Pay online. Prices are quoted in Euro.

All prices on our website are excluding VAT.

The refund will be issued within 10 days after reception of the returned products.


What Is The Warranty?

Altered products are under warranty for two (2) years from the date of purchase. 
Altered takes great pride in the design and craftsmanship of all our products. We strive to make sure every item we sell is perfect. In the unlikely event that an Altered product does not match up to our high standards we will try our hardest to address the problem.

Product Information & Care Instructions

 

Does the product work with my water system?

The products are not suitable with pressure less water systems. We recommend a minimum pressure of 3 BAR to fulfill the functionality of Dual Flow. For Single Flow Dome we recommend a minimum pressure of 1.5 BAR.


My faucet has a consealed/cache aerator. Will the product be suitable with that?

Unfortunately not. The product will only work on taps that has a detachable socket for removable aerators.


We have low water quality in our country. How will that effect the product?

The product is equiped with a particle filter comparable to standard aerators. It will therefor not be either better or worse than your current aerator. The product can easily be taken apart and cleaned.


Our country is suffering from hard water/limescale. How will that effect the product and its functionality?

Just like any aerator lime scale buildup will eventually effect the product. But not more than in your current aerator. For limescale we recommend to put the Nozzle in vinegar over night. This will remove and clean the Nozzle.  


How do I clean the product?

Start with uninstalling the Nozzle from the tap and then clean the separate parts. You can use both water and vinegar.


WHY DOES MY NOZZLE LOOK green or corroded?

Most metallic materials react when they get in contact with oxygen/water. In some cases, like for iron, the oxidation results in an, often, unwanted degradation/corrosion of the material (e.g. iron turns into rust). In other cases, like for aluminum and copper/brass, the oxidation creates a thin metal oxide layer protecting the metal from further oxidation. For copper and copper alloys like brass, this layer is called verdigris and is colored. The verdigris does not have a negative functional affect on the device but is only an esthetical thing. Copper/brass is the most common material used in drinking water applications like pipes, faucets etc. 

 


Trouble Shooting

My Altered:Nozzle is leaking

If you are experiencing leakage from you Nozzle, please check the following

For standard/Junior sized faucets: 

Make sure you have placed part C in the instruction (metal/Rubber gasket) with the rubber side down.
Do not forget to reuse your original rubber gasket. Check part H in instruction manual.
Try to tighten your socket. Use a plier if necessary. 

For Tom Thumb sized faucets: 

Check if you need to use part E in the instruction manual, a brass adaptor ring. 
Also check if you need to use the extra gasket F together with your original gasket H. 


My nozzle is stuck in mist mode. What do I do?

If you have issues with the Nozzle being stuck in Mist Mode it does not mean that your product is defected in any way. Just uninstall and use a wrench/pliers to hold the top and turn the nozzle. If it's still stuck use another wrench/pliers instead of your hand. Be gentle.

The handle keeps faling off the Nozzle. How do I make it stay on?

If you are having trouble with the handle not staying on, here are some steps you can try:
1. Screwing the screw through the handle without fitting it to see that the screw goes all the way through the hole. 

2. If the screw gets stuck on the way use the hex key to tighten the screw until the it goes through the hole. This clears any potential metal residue. 

3. Once you have done that you can fit the handle to the Nozzle. 


i would like even more water in spray mode. is that possible? 

Yes, it is. To increase the water flow in spray mode you remove the plug on top off the Nozzle. Please see further instructions in the instructions manual. 


     When I turn off my tap it continues to drop water. How can I fix it?

    Water continuing to run after you turn the tap off means air is trapped in the faucet. It is compressed when water is flowing, and then expands as the pressure goes down after you turn off your tap. Certain types of faucets with a high curved neck can contain trapped air, which can make the tap drip after it is closed. Put the Nozzle to spray mode and flush for a little while to get it out.


I have a gap beteen the tap and the chrome handle (My handle IS NOT FULLy ATTACHED)

Make sure that you have placed the handle right. See pictures in the installation folder. The little ”knob” needs to be entered in the right cut.
Check so you don’t have the screw on the backside of the Nozzle to far in so it won't slide on. You can also wet the Nozzles black o-ring. Use a little push to slide the handle on.
